SYNW Appoints Akinyemi Jelili Oyelere as SYNW Coordinator in the Polytechnic of Ibadan

 SYNW APPOINTS AKINYEMI JELILI OYELERE AS SYNW COORDINATOR IN THE POLYTECHNIC OF IBADAN

 

The Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) has announced the appointment of Akinyemi Jelili Oyelere as her Coordinator in The Polytechnic of Ibadan..

 

In a statement made available to pressmen today, Wole Adedoyin, the National President of the Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) said, Akinyemi Jelili Oyelere will be responsible for connecting students with SYNW’s resources, organizing monthly readings, workshops, competitions with support from individuals, corporate bodies and the National body, while also supporting them in ways that help promote reading culture in The Polytechnic of Ibadan and enhance their literary career.

 

In order to achieve SYNW’s aim of promoting creative writing and book reading among Nigerian students between the ages of 10 and 35 in our various universities, the Society of Young Nigerian Writers has again appointed Akinyemi Jelili Oyelere as Coordinator of the young writers’ body in The Polytechnic of Ibadan.

 

We look forward to seeing the initiatives that Akinyemi Jelili Oyelere introduces and continues at the campus,” Adedoyin said.

 

Akinyemi Jelili Oyelere hails from Imia hamlet Kajola Local Government, Oke-Ogun area, Oyo State Nigeria. He is currently a final year student of The Polytechnic, Ibadan. Department of Local Government and Development Studies. He is a Poetry Students' Ambassador (PSA), PRO, Press Council, and liaison Officer between Press Council and Security Department, The Polytechnic, Ibadan. And Vice President of International African Writers' Association (IAWA), Nigerian Branch.

 

He is the the founder of Awakening Dreams Foundation, a nongovernmental organization that helps young minds discover their purpose and make their dreams a reality. He is a member of ANA, Oyo state chapter. He is an Award winning poet and an advocate for Quality Education, goal four of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

 

His poems and short story has featured in both national and International Anthologies like African Tales, Insight, Florets of Fancy, Petals of Wisdom, Lullaby of Silence etc.

 

He Authored Awakening Dreams (A collection of poems). The book is a reality of dreams, passion of the Jelili for poetry writing and his unfading love for the peace, unity, culture and literature.. Awakening Dreams is a book you will enjoy reading.
