**EASTER: WRITERS URGE CHRISTIANS TO EMBRACE HOPE, SACRIFICE AND LOVE**
Writers under the aegis of the Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW Global) have felicitated with Christians across the world on the celebration of Easter, urging them to reflect on the significance of the season which centers on sacrifice, love, and hope.
The literary organization emphasized the importance of upholding the virtues demonstrated by Jesus Christ in his death and resurrection.
This message was conveyed through a press statement issued by the President of SYNW Global, Wole Adedoyin, who highlighted Easter as a moment for self-reflection, renewal, and the reaffirmation of faith.
According to him, “Easter reminds us of the power of love, forgiveness, and the unwavering hope for a better tomorrow.”
Adedoyin encouraged Christians and all Nigerians to use the opportunity of the season to extend kindness and compassion to the less privileged, stressing that the world is in dire need of empathy and solidarity.
He noted that writers, through their works, have a unique role to play in spreading messages of peace, unity, and mutual respect among people of all faiths.
He further charged members of SYNW Global to be torchbearers of hope and transformation in their communities, using their pens to inspire positive change and bridge religious and cultural divides. He affirmed that literature has the power to foster tolerance and understanding during turbulent times.
The SYNW President also used the occasion to call on Nigerian leaders to emulate the humility and servant leadership demonstrated by Christ.
He urged them to recommit themselves to the service of the people, especially in addressing the challenges of poverty, insecurity, and disunity facing the country.
“Easter is not just a religious event; it is a reminder of the triumph of good over evil, life over death, and hope over despair.
These are themes that resonate deeply with writers and should inspire us to keep promoting human dignity and social justice through our craft,” Adedoyin added.
He expressed gratitude to Christian writers for their contributions to moral, spiritual, and cultural development through faith-based literature and storytelling. He said their voices continue to uplift hearts and guide souls on the path of righteousness.
SYNW Global urged Christians to celebrate responsibly while remembering the core message of Easter. The organization encouraged everyone to make room for introspection, healing, and a renewed commitment to building a just and equitable society.
