The Society of Young Nigerian Writers has congratulated the current Director General of he Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) on the occasion of his 61st Birthday.

Under Dr. Asein's exemplary leadership, the Nigerian Copyright Commission has ascended to remarkable heights, serving as a beacon for artists, writers, content creators, and practitioners within the creative industry. 

Through his dedication and vision, Dr. Asein has facilitated the protection of countless works against piracy, ensuring the safeguarding of intellectual property rights.

With a distinguished career spanning over two decades, Dr. Asein has been instrumental in shaping copyright law and policies in Nigeria. 

His invaluable contributions extend beyond national borders, as he has actively participated in negotiating Nigeria’s stance on various international copyright issues, elevating the nation's presence on the global stage.

A graduate of the prestigious New Hampshire School of Law (formerly, Franklin Pierce Law Center), Dr. Asein holds academic accolades from the Universities of Lagos and Calabar. His scholarly pursuits are complemented by practical expertise, evidenced by his authorship of seminal works such as the Nigerian Copyright Act, with Introduction and Notes, and Introduction to Nigerian Legal System.

Beyond his scholarly achievements, Dr. Asein is renowned for his extensive consultancy work in the field of intellectual property law, authorship, and innovation management. 

His profound insights and guidance have undoubtedly enriched the landscape of intellectual property protection in Nigeria and beyond.

According to the statement, the SYNW celebrated Dr. Asein's milestone birthday, the body applauded his unwavering commitment to advancing the rights of creators and fostering a conducive environment for artistic expression and innovation.
