WRITERS CONGRATULATE DR. WALE OKEDIRAN ON HIS 69TH BIRTHDAY
The Society of Young Nigerian Writers has congratulated Dr. Wale Okediran on the occasion of his 69th birthday.
In a press statement issued today by the Society's President, Wole Adedoyin, the organization commended Dr. Okediran's significant contributions to the literary landscape in Nigeria and Africa.
Adedoyin highlighted the Ebedi Writers Residency program founded by Dr. Okediran, which has empowered over 200 writers from across Africa to refine their craft and see their works published.
The Society also acknowledged Dr. Okediran's unwavering support, particularly towards their book clubs and various literary initiatives.
These include creative writing workshops, seminars, conferences, and monthly book reading events.
The press release emphasized the positive impact of the Ebedi Writers Residency on the Society's members.
Over 15 members have participated in the five-week program, and many have become published authors since.

The statement lauded his current role as Secretary General of the Pan African Writers Association and his previous term as President of the Association of Nigerian Authors.
