SYNW MOURNS
PHEBEAN AJIBOLA OGUNDIPE
The
Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) has commiserated with the family of Late
Mrs Phebean Ajibola Ogundipe, the popular author of the book “Brighter Grammar
Series”.
It would be recalled that Mrs. Ogundipe
died on 27 March 2020 in Charlotte, North Carolina, in the United States, where
she was buried on the same day.
Mrs Ogundipe, who was born on May 16, 1927, died early on Friday, March 27, in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States of America.
Popularly known as PA Ogundipe, was famous for
English Language books such as Brighter Grammar series which she co-authored
with M. Macaulay and C.E. Eckersley; New Practical English for Senior Secondary
series which she co-authored with P.S. Tregidgo; a novel, Up-country Girl: A
personal journey and truthful portrayal of African culture, among others.
According to the
Statement “We commiserate with the family of Late Mrs Phebean Ajibola. Ogundipe
and author of Brighter Grammar Series and many other books. May the soul of Late
Mrs Phebean Ajibola Ogundipe rest in perfect peace and may almighty God grant
her family the fortitude to bear her demise.’’
SYNW finally urged
Governor Gboyega Oyetola, the executive governor of Osun State to honor and immortalize
the late writer for her huge contributions to the country’s education.
