Writers Congratulate Kunle Sogbein, Folu Agoi (PEN Nigeria President) on Their Birthdays

 WRITERS CONGRATULATE KUNLE SOGBEIN, FOLU AGOI (PEN NIGERIA PRESIDENT) ON THEIR BIRTHDAYS



The Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW Global) has congratulated the duo of Mr. Kunle Sogbein and Mr. Folu Agoi on the occasion of their birthdays. 


This celebratory message, delivered by SYNW President Wole Adedoyin, stressed the high esteem and respect that the literary community holds for these two distinguished individuals.


Mr. Kunle Sogbein, known for his illustrious career, served as the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Publishers Association from March 2004 to March 2014. His tenure marked a transformative period in Nigeria’s publishing industry, characterized by significant growth and development. Mr. Sogbein’s contributions to the educational sector, particularly during his time as Sales Promotion Manager at Longman Nigeria PLC, have been instrumental in advancing literacy and learning in the country.


Mr. Folu Agoi, a celebrated poet, academic, literary activist, and publisher, has profoundly impacted Nigeria’s literary scene. As the former Chairman of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) Lagos Chapter and the current President of PEN Nigeria, Mr. Agoi has shown exemplary leadership and dedication. His literary prowess has earned him numerous accolades, including the BBC Poetry Competition (2001), Wole Soyinka Award for Literature (2007), and the Mother Drum Golden Award for Excellence.


The creative works of Mr. Folu Agoi have not only captivated readers but also inspired countless aspiring writers. His notable publications, such as "Candid Lyrics" (2000), "More Candid Lyrics" (2001), "An Offering of Olive" (2004), "Service to Fatherland" (2013), and "I Know the Smell of My Lover's Skin" (2016), showcase his ability to weave thought-provoking narratives and evocative poetry that resonate deeply with his audience.


SYNW commended the immense contributions of Mr. Kunle Sogbein and Mr. Folu Agoi to Nigeria’s literary landscape. 


Their tireless efforts in promoting and advancing literature in the country have left an indelible mark, inspiring young writers and budding authors across the nation.


On this joyous occasion, SYNW wished Mr. Kunle Sogbein and Mr. Folu Agoi good health, happiness, and continued success in their future endeavors.
