The Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW Global) has congratulated two eminent figures in Nigerian literature and public service, Ngozi Therese Chuma-Udeh and Odili Ujubuoñu, on the joyous occasion of their birthdays.

In a congratulatory message issued by SYNW President, Wole Adedoyin, the Society celebrated their invaluable contributions to literature, education, and public administration.

Ngozi Therese Chuma-Udeh, currently serving as the Honorable Commissioner for Education in Anambra State, is renowned for her profound impact on both academic and literary spheres. A distinguished professor of English, specializing in African and comparative literature, Chuma-Udeh has dedicated her career to the advancement of education and the empowerment of women and children. Her roles as a teacher, orator, academic, novelist, poet, and activist highlight her multifaceted contributions to society.

As the Commissioner for the Anambra State Ministry of Education and the Secretary of the Anambra State Education Advisory Board, she has been instrumental in shaping educational policies that foster academic excellence and inclusivity.

Odili Ujubuoñu, an accomplished author and advertising practitioner, has similarly made remarkable strides in his career. His debut novel, Pregnancy of the Gods, achieved immediate acclaim, establishing him as a prominent voice in Nigerian literature. The novel’s success was followed by Treasure in the Winds and Pride of the Spider Clan, both of which continue to captivate readers with their rich narratives and cultural depth.

Ujubuoñu’s literary accolades are a reflection of his exceptional talent and dedication. Pregnancy of the Gods won the 2006 ANA/Jacaranda Prize for Prose, while Treasure in the Winds garnered the 2008 ANA/Chevron Prize on Environmental Issues and was a nominee for the Nigeria Prize for Literature in the same year. His novel, Pride of the Spider Clan, was nominated for the 2010 Wole Soyinka Prize for Africa and won the 2010 ANA Prose Prize, further cementing his status as a literary luminary.

Beyond his literary achievements, Ujubuoñu serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Anambra State Signage & Advertisement Agency (ANSAA). In this capacity, he has demonstrated exemplary leadership and innovative vision, contributing significantly to the development of effective communication and advertising strategies within the state.

The SYNW Global takes pride in acknowledging the birthdays of these two extraordinary individuals. Their unwavering commitment to their respective fields has not only enriched Nigerian literature and education but has also inspired countless young writers and students to pursue their passions with zeal and determination.

“As Chuma-Udeh and Ujubuoñu celebrate another year of life, SYNW Global extended its warmest wishes for continued success, health, and happiness. Their legacies in literature and public service are enduring, and their impact on future generations is immeasurable.” The release said.
