Writers Greet Christians At Christmas

 **WRITERS GREET CHRISTIANS AT CHRISTMAS**

The Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW Global) has extended warm greetings to Nigerian Christians on the occasion of this year’s Christmas celebration.

The message, conveyed through a press release issued by the President of the Society, Wole Adedoyin, reflects the society’s solidarity with the Christian community during this season of joy and reflection.

In the press release, Adedoyin described Christmas as a time of profound spiritual significance and a moment to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, whose teachings of love, peace, and goodwill continue to inspire people globally. He urged Nigerians, irrespective of their religious affiliations, to embrace the core values of Christmas and promote harmony and mutual respect.

“Christmas reminds us of the need to show love and compassion to one another, especially during challenging times like these. It is also a call for reflection and gratitude for the gift of life and the opportunity to contribute positively to society,” Adedoyin stated.

The Society of Young Nigerian Writers commended Christians for their immense contributions to the spiritual, cultural, and social development of the nation. Adedoyin highlighted the pivotal role that churches and Christian organizations play in providing support to the less privileged, promoting moral values, and fostering community development.

As a community of writers and creatives, SYNW Global emphasized the power of words in shaping society and encouraged writers to use their talents to inspire unity, hope, and transformation during this festive period. “Writers have a responsibility to influence society positively. Christmas provides a unique opportunity for us to write stories and poems that celebrate the values of love, humility, and generosity,” Adedoyin added.

The Society also used the opportunity to remind Nigerians to extend their celebrations to acts of charity, particularly reaching out to the underprivileged and vulnerable members of society. According to Adedoyin, “True celebration lies in sharing what we have with others. Let us use this season to bring smiles to the faces of those who may not have the means to celebrate.”

In addition, SYNW Global reaffirmed its commitment to promoting literature and creative expression in Nigeria. The Society plans to organize programs and workshops in the coming year to empower young writers and encourage them to engage with themes that foster societal growth and understanding.

Adedoyin concluded the statement by wishing all Nigerian Christians a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. He expressed hope that the season would bring renewed strength, peace, and joy to all Nigerians, while also encouraging continued collaboration and unity across all sectors of the society.
