World Poetry Day: IHRAF Calls on Poets to Address Human Rights Abuse and Societal Decadence through their works

WORLD POETRY DAY: IHRAF CALLS ON POETS TO ADDRESS HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSE AND SOCIETAL DECADENCE THROUGH POETRY

The African Chapter of the International Human Rights Art Festival (IHRAF) marked World Poetry Day by calling on poets to address human rights abuse and societal decadence through their art. This year's theme is "Poetry for Human Rights: Addressing Abuse and Decadence in Society."

In a statement by the Director of IHRAF in Africa, Wole Adedoyin said World Poetry Day is celebrated every year on March 21st, and it is an opportunity to recognize the unique ability of poetry to capture the human experience, to convey emotions, and to connect people across cultures and borders.

IHRAF is a non-profit organization that celebrates art and activism through the arts. The organization believes that art is a powerful tool for social change, and they are dedicated to promoting and supporting artists who use their work to address important issues, including human rights abuses.

The International Human Rights Art Festival has urged poets to address human rights abuse and societal decadence in their work. IHRAF believes that poetry is a powerful way to raise awareness and to promote positive change. The organization has called on poets from around the world to use their voices to speak out against human rights abuses and to help create a more just and equitable world.

"We believe that poets have a unique ability to capture the essence of the human experience and to convey complex emotions in a way that resonates with people across cultures and borders," said Wole Adedoyin, the African Director of IHRAF. "Through their art, poets can help us to understand the experiences of those who are marginalized or oppressed, and they can inspire us to take action to create a more just and equitable world."

IHRAF is encouraging poets to use their art to address a wide range of human rights abuses, including issues such as gender inequality, racism, discrimination, poverty, and violence. The organization is also urging poets to address societal decadence, which refers to the erosion of cultural, moral, and ethical values in society.

"We believe that societal decadence is a serious problem that is contributing to many of the human rights abuses that we see around the world today," said Adedoyin. "Poetry has the power to help us confront this problem by challenging our assumptions, exposing our biases, and inspiring us to take action to build a more just and equitable world."

IHRAF is calling on poets to share their work with the world through social media, blogs, and other platforms. The organization is also encouraging poets to participate in events and festivals that celebrate poetry and human rights.

"We believe that poetry can be a powerful force for change, and we are committed to supporting poets who are using their voices to make a difference in the world," said Adedoyin. "We encourage all poets to join us in this important work and to use their art to help create a better future for all."

IHRAF is planning to host a series of events and workshops in the coming months to promote the use of poetry as a tool for social change. The organization is also calling on governments, organizations, and individuals around the world to support the use of art and poetry to promote human rights and social justice.

"Art and poetry have the power to change the world, and we believe that it is our responsibility to use these tools to make a positive difference in the world," said Adedoyin. "We urge everyone to join us in this important work and to use their voices to help create a better world for all."
